Prop and Equipment List

Video Props:

Bed sheet – I will need 2 different colours bed sheets (Dark blue, white) to create the different locations for the person in the bed. They will be used to signify being in and outside of the water. I will also have to prepare the transition between the two different sheets in advance as it might be difficult.

Pillows – The pillows will be used to represent different objects in the production, as well as showing movement in the footage. They will mainly be used to show the actress climbing and falling and making it obvious that is what she is doing.

Clothing – Clothing will be used to represent different things as well e.g. socks as fish. They will stand out on the dark background, and hopefully the audience see what I am trying to show.

Booth Props:

Cupboard – This will be included in the booth to make it appear more like a bedroom, this will have clothes spilling out of it to make it appear even more bedroomlike.

Lamp – This will be there for the same reason as the cupboard, to make the booth appear more like a bedroom, as the installation is meant to be inclusive.

Window – Matt has a wooden window shape in the studio which I will use to show the night sky outside. This is meant to give the audience the illusion that it is night time which is why the person is dreaming.

Shop Dummy – This will be used to represent Jake in the booth. As he is the actor in the installation video, it makes sense that he is the one being shown. This will be done with a monitor with his face being shown on it.

Fairy Lights – The fairy lights will be displayed around the window to make the booth more lit up and interesting.

Equipment:

DSLR Camera – I will be using my own camera because I know how it works and I will be able to take to and from college without having the borrow it from the photography department.

Camera mount – This is a stand that will hold the camera above the bed in a perfectly still position. It must be high enough to include the whole bed sheet, and be completely central. I have spoken to the photography department, and they said it would be possible to make something like this with the equipment they have got.

Lighting – The lighting in the studio will be very important because there cannot be any shadows shown in the images, as it would ruin the overall effect. My plan is to use the huge overhead lights in the large studio downstairs, however, it would be possible to do it in the photography studio upstairs.
